How to Use GMX on Mobile
Risk warning. Trading perpetual futures and other leveraged crypto-asset products is high risk. A large share of retail traders lose money, so never trade with money you cannot afford to lose entirely. Disclaimer
There’s no GMX app in the App Store or Play Store, if you want to trade on your phone, you’re not missing a download, you’re using a different path entirely: your wallet’s built-in browser.
This guide is part of TradeOnDEX’s GMX how-to series within Perpetual Futures.

Why there’s no “GMX app” to look for
GMX is a decentralized exchange running on Arbitrum and Avalanche smart contracts, not a company with a mobile app to publish. Access happens through your wallet, whether that’s a browser extension on desktop or a mobile wallet on your phone, there’s no separate native GMX client to install anywhere.
This means for you, concretely: if you’ve searched app stores for “GMX” and found nothing official, that’s expected, not a sign you’re missing something. The real question is which mobile wallet setup gets you to the actual gmx.io interface.
The two practical ways to trade GMX on mobile
- A WalletConnect-compatible wallet’s built-in dapp browser. Wallets like MetaMask Mobile and Coinbase Wallet include a built-in browser specifically for loading decentralized apps, open it, navigate to gmx.io, and connect using the wallet already open in the same app.
- A wallet with dedicated GMX support built into its interface. Zerion Wallet, for example, has built-in support for GMX trading, LP positions, and staking directly inside its own app, rather than requiring you to load gmx.io in a separate dapp browser tab.
How to connect, step by step
- Install a mobile wallet with a built-in dapp browser (MetaMask Mobile, Coinbase Wallet, or Zerion Wallet, among others).
- Fund the wallet with the network and assets you plan to trade with (Arbitrum or Avalanche, depending on which GMX deployment you’re using).
- Open the wallet’s built-in browser and navigate to the official gmx.io address, or use the wallet’s own built-in GMX feature if it has one.
- Connect your wallet when prompted, confirming the connection request inside the wallet app itself.
Risk: what’s different (and riskier) about mobile dapp access
Typing a URL from memory on a small screen raises the chance of landing on a look-alike domain. As covered in the phishing-awareness guide and elsewhere in this series, fake sites mimicking real DEX interfaces are a real threat, bookmark the official address after verifying it once, rather than retyping or trusting a search-engine ad result each time.
A phone is easier to lose, unlock, or have physically accessed than a desktop. Since your mobile wallet holds signing keys capable of moving funds and opening leveraged positions, treat device-level security (passcode, biometric lock, auto-lock timing) as part of your trading security, not a separate concern.
Small screens make it easier to misread position size, leverage, or order type before confirming. Double-check these fields specifically on mobile, where compressed layouts and thumb-typing raise the odds of a costly input mistake versus a larger desktop screen.
Not every mobile wallet’s dapp browser renders complex DeFi interfaces identically. If a page element looks cut off, misaligned, or a button doesn’t respond as expected, don’t assume the transaction will behave correctly anyway, switch to a desktop browser to confirm before proceeding with a trade that matters.
Mobile access options compared
| Option | How you access GMX | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MetaMask Mobile / Coinbase Wallet dapp browser | Load gmx.io inside the wallet’s built-in browser | Traders who already use these wallets on desktop too |
| Zerion Wallet | Built-in GMX trading, LP, and staking inside Zerion’s own interface | Traders who want a more native-feeling mobile experience |
| Desktop browser + extension wallet | Not mobile, included for comparison | Larger trades or complex order types where screen size matters more |
See it for yourself
Before placing a real trade on mobile, open your wallet’s dapp browser, navigate to GMX, and just look around the interface at a small size first, get a feel for how position sizing and confirmation screens render before committing capital through a phone screen. You can access GMX at gmx.io.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official GMX app for iOS or Android?
No, GMX has no native mobile app; access on mobile happens through a WalletConnect-compatible wallet’s built-in dapp browser, or a wallet with dedicated GMX support like Zerion.
Is trading GMX on mobile less secure than desktop?
Not inherently, but it introduces different risks, smaller screens make misreads easier, and typing URLs from memory raises phishing risk. Bookmark the verified official address and double-check order details before confirming.
Which mobile wallets work with GMX?
Any WalletConnect-compatible wallet with a built-in dapp browser, such as MetaMask Mobile or Coinbase Wallet, works for loading gmx.io directly. Zerion Wallet additionally offers built-in GMX support inside its own interface.
Can I do everything on mobile that I can on desktop?
In principle yes, since you’re accessing the same underlying interface or contracts, but complex order types and larger trades are easier to review carefully on a bigger screen.

Risk warning
Trading crypto assets, and leveraged products based on them such as perpetual futures ("perps"), is high risk. A large share of retail traders lose money on these products. Leverage magnifies gains and losses alike and can push your loss beyond the amount you put in. Positions can be closed automatically (liquidation) before you get a chance to react, and some of the platforms we cover offer no negative balance protection.
