How to Create an ApeX Omni Account and Connect a Wallet

Risk warning. Trading perpetual futures and other leveraged crypto-asset products is high risk. A large share of retail traders lose money, so never trade with money you cannot afford to lose entirely. Disclaimer

There’s no registration form and no KYC step on ApeX Omni, connecting a wallet is the entire account-creation process. The one real requirement is that the wallet needs to be EVM-compatible; funds sitting on a non-EVM chain need to move first.

This guide is the first in TradeOnDEX’s ApeX Protocol how-to series within Perpetual Futures.

Why there’s no separate account step

ApeX Omni doesn’t require account registration or identity verification, connecting and approving wallet access is what creates your account. This means for you, concretely: there’s no separate username, password, or KYC document upload standing between you and trading; the wallet connection itself is the authentication and account-creation mechanism combined.

How to connect, step by step

  1. Go to omni.apex.exchange and click Connect Wallet in the top right of the homepage.
  2. Choose to onboard via email or by connecting an existing crypto wallet, supported wallet providers include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, Phantom, Privy, or WalletConnect.
  3. Approve the signature request to verify your wallet.
  4. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click Create Account.
  5. Your wallet is now linked, and your ApeX account is live and ready to fund.

The EVM-compatibility requirement, specifically

ApeX Omni only supports EVM-compatible wallets, something like MetaMask or Rabby Wallet works directly, but a wallet native to a non-EVM ecosystem doesn’t connect the same way. This means for you, concretely: if your funds currently sit on a non-EVM chain, you’ll need to bridge or move them to an EVM-compatible wallet and network before connecting to ApeX, not just create a new wallet and expect existing non-EVM holdings to appear.

Risk: what the no-KYC, wallet-only model means for you

Wallet security is now your entire account security, with no separate password layer. Since connecting a wallet is the whole authentication mechanism, protecting that wallet’s private key or seed phrase matters at least as much as it would on any other self-custody platform in this series, there’s no separate account password to fall back on if your wallet is compromised.

Email onboarding may use a different underlying custody model than a directly connected wallet. If you choose the email-based onboarding path rather than connecting an existing wallet, understand what custody arrangement that specific option actually uses before depositing significant funds.

A convincing fake ApeX site is a documented real risk, not hypothetical. As covered in more detail later in this series, a fake ApeX Protocol website has already been documented and used to expose connected wallets to a crypto drainer. Verify the exact official domain before connecting, especially given how central wallet-connection is to this platform’s entire access model.

Non-EVM funds require an extra step before you can even begin. Don’t assume every wallet or chain works interchangeably here. Confirm your funds are on an EVM-compatible network first, or you’ll need an additional bridging step before connecting to ApeX at all.

What you need before connecting

RequirementWhy it matters
An EVM-compatible wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, etc.)ApeX Omni only supports EVM wallets directly
Funds already on an EVM-compatible chainNon-EVM assets need to move first
A verified, bookmarked official domainProtects against the documented fake-site risk

See it for yourself

Verify the official omni.apex.exchange domain and bookmark it before connecting, and confirm your funds are already on an EVM-compatible chain so the connection process goes smoothly on the first attempt.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to complete KYC to use ApeX Omni?

No, there’s no registration or identity verification step; connecting and approving wallet access creates your account directly.

Can I connect a non-EVM wallet like a native Solana wallet?

Not directly, ApeX Omni only supports EVM-compatible wallets, so funds on a non-EVM chain need to move to an EVM-compatible wallet and network first.

What wallets does ApeX Omni support?

MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, Phantom, Privy, and WalletConnect-compatible wallets, among others, with additional mobile wallet integrations added over time.

Is there a real risk of fake ApeX websites?

Yes, a documented fake ApeX Protocol site has been used to expose connected wallets to a crypto drainer, so verify the official domain carefully before connecting.

Risk warning

Trading crypto assets, and leveraged products based on them such as perpetual futures ("perps"), is high risk. A large share of retail traders lose money on these products. Leverage magnifies gains and losses alike and can push your loss beyond the amount you put in. Positions can be closed automatically (liquidation) before you get a chance to react, and some of the platforms we cover offer no negative balance protection.

Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose entirely. TradeOnDEX gives no investment advice, no personal recommendation, and no guarantee of any outcome. Every decision you make is your own decision and your own responsibility.
